E-Day is built to play anywhere — literally. Cross-platform play, Play Anywhere ownership and roaming saves mean your squad and your progress follow you across every version of the game.

Is Gears of War: E-Day crossplay?

Yes — Xbox Series X|S and PC share matchmaking across Horde Siege and Versus. The 12-player Horde Siege lobbies pull from the combined player pool, and 4v4 Versus matches the same way. Crossplay is the default, not an opt-in toggle you have to find.

What is Xbox Play Anywhere for E-Day?

Buy once on the Microsoft Store, play on both Xbox and PC — one purchase covers both platforms, with shared saves and achievements. It is the standard Xbox first-party deal and applies to E-Day the same as the rest of the lineup.

How do saves work across platforms?

• Xbox ↔ Microsoft Store PC — shared progression automatically via Play Anywhere.
• Steam PC — optional account linking extends roaming saves and cross-platform invites to Steam players.
• Handhelds — Steam Deck and Xbox Ally sync the same way, so progress carries between console, desktop and portable.

Can you carry co-op and multiplayer progress?

Yes — account progression (rank, XP, cosmetics) follows your linked account across all platforms, so Horde Siege unlocks earned on Xbox are waiting on PC. The economy side is covered in the multiplayer progression guide.

What about co-op?

The campaign supports up to 4-player online co-op with crossplay, plus 2-player split-screen on console only. A mixed-platform squad can run the full campaign online — the split-screen limitation is a hardware/console feature, not a platform restriction.
